Our Most Anticipated Games of 2018

Check out our most anticipated games of 2018. There are many indie re-releases for the Switch which would usually get a look in, but the list below is reserved for new IP, total revamps or sequels!

Monster Hunter World - PS4, XBO, (Jan), PC (Late 2018)

The first time on a core console (and PC) since the PS2, this highly anticipated entry looks amazing and offers online co-op. Its going to be huge.

God of War – PS4 (March Rumoured)

With a rumoured March release date, this reinvigorated attempt at Good of War looks a lot more involving and personal than previous games, and for the first time in the series history, totally new game mechanics.

Shadow of the Colossus – PS4 (Feb)

The second attempt at a remake and one which may do Fumito Ueda’s original vision justice. With a promised 60FPS, we can’t wait to dive back into this.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance – PS4, XBO, PC (Feb)

This one is a gamble because we still know very little. It looks fantastic, and has that Western RPG feel to it, but it could to turn out to be a stinker!

Sea of Thieves – XBO, PC (March)

The latest game from Rare looks to provide us with some seafaring pirate shenanigans, in Rare’s typical graphical style and quirky humour. With the option to sail with your friends, this should be a winner.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – PS4, PC (March)

Ni No Kuni has already been delayed three times, which many people have taken as a bad sign. It still looks undeniably beautiful and looks to retain the charm of the first game.

Farcry 5 – PS4, XBO, PC (March)

Ubisoft aren’t stepping outside of their comfort zone here; massive map, blistering graphics, collectables, great gunplay and suitably controversial storyline. We can’t wait!

Anthem – PS4, XBO, PC (Q4)

Very little is known about the game, but the inclusion of Bioware has us very excited about how great this could be. After a lacklustre showing from Mass Effect in 2017, we are hoping they have their best talent on this and that loot boxes don’t make an appearance.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age – PS4, Switch (TBA)

Akira Toriyama and Level 5 collaborate again for this, the 9th in the series. Expect open worlds, beautiful graphics and old school JRPG loveliness.

Kingdom Hearts III – PS4, XBO (TBA)

Announced way back in 2013, and with scant few details on the game, some have even questioned whether it will see the light of day. Hopefully we will get to see some of Disney’s more recent acquisitions in there like Marvel and Star Wars!

Phoenix Point – PC (Q4)

Original X-Com creator Julian Gollop is involved and this looks very much like a spiritual successor to the influential series. This has been described as a crossover of X-Com and Fallout. We can’t wait!

Red Dead Redemption 2 – PS4, XBO (Q2)

The much requested and hyped follow up to one of the greatest games ever made, is finally making a return this year! From what we have seen already, its fair to say that we are pretty hyped about a return to the wild west.

Spiderman – PS4 (Q1)

Its been a while since the last great Spiderman game, and with Insomniac Games at the helm (Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive), we are certain this will be full of frantic action and fluid gameplay.
